Seton Hall University is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment. Reporting to the Associate Provost for Academic and Graduate Affairs, the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment will be responsible for leading and implementing graduate recruiting and marketing efforts to meet graduate enrollment goals for the University. The Executive Director will manage the day-to-day aspects of the graduate admissions process for the University and will serve as a member of the Office of Graduate Affairs leadership team. The Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment will be expected to maintain collaborative relationships with all Graduate Affairs partners and support the overall strategic enrollment efforts of the University.
The incumbent will be responsible for designing and implementing graduate admission strategies that are data-informed and results-oriented, and will be deployed across the spectrum of graduate programs offered by the University. This individual will also mentor, develop, and supervise a team of graduate recruiters while directing daily workflow and recruitment-related processes; and will bring established expertise and experience in graduate admissions, marketing, enrollment systems, and change management in higher education. The Director may be expected to work some evenings and/or weekends, and the position will require occasional local, regional, national, or international travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities that will be inherent to the position are as follows:
• Develop and implement strategies and innovative initiatives to increase graduate enrollments across the University in coordination with all areas of Academic Affairs.
• Direct the graduate admissions process throughout the admission funnel and lead the Office of Graduate Affairs recruitment staff.
• Maximize recruitment strategy and campaigns with Technolutions Slate CRM, while leveraging technology to yield graduate students.
• Execute and assess student recruiting events, including information sessions both on and off campus, as well as the Graduate Open House.
• Attend graduate recruitment conferences and fairs, and conduct similar activities for recruitment team while maintaining sufficient office coverage.
• Assist faculty program directors to most effectively engage with prospective students.
• Work in collaboration with the Office of International Programs on international student engagement, recruitment, and enrollment.
• Analyze data to track students through the application and enrollment process to gauge success of recruiting efforts and strategies.
• Collaborate with University Relations and Marketing on overseeing and executing marketing and promotions related to targeted campaigns intended to yield potential applicants.
• Partner with the various Colleges and Schools of the University, as well as Enrollment Services, Information Technology, and other support services regarding student onboarding at the point of enrollment and matriculation.
• Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
*Three-to-five years of progressively responsible experience in
graduate recruitment and enrollment management. Expertise in recruiting non-traditional, adult, graduate, international, and/or online students very strongly preferred.
*Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across a diverse population. Excellent public speaking skills and ability to present the University to individual prospective students and other constituencies.
Strong written and verbal skills.
• Proven ability to conceive and execute a robust communications campaign to prospective students.
• Demonstrated ability to develop marketing, communication, and social media strategies for student
recruitment.
• Must have prior experience working with CRM tools and Student Information Systems for the purposes
of recruitment and student information tracking. Experience with Technolutions Slate CRM very strongly
preferred.
• Proficiency with Ellucian Banner preferred.
• Facility with all Microsoft Office Suite applications; in particular, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
required.
Desired Qualifications:
• Strong project management skills; ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Capacity to multi-task and manage multiple projects at a given time
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours, and possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Familiarity with Cognos beneficial.
