Working directly with Seton Hall’s AVP of Strategic Communications and Brand, the Associate Director will take proactive ownership of a portfolio of projects and responsibilities to reinforce the evolution and refinement of the Seton Hall brand. Projects will involve high-level execution of brand strategies and strategic communications initiatives to drive awareness and engagement with the Seton Hall story. The role requires expert project management along with mobilizing cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1)Brand Initiative Execution: Provide comprehensive execution for a diverse set of initiatives that extend and reinforce the Seton Hall brand, including but not limited to: ongoing training, internal communications, reports, analyses, up-to-date brand guides, arming and bolstering brand ambassadors, etc.
2) Project Management: Direct workflows for strategic communications and brand extension/brand management work to ensure projects are completed effectively and on time, meeting desired objectives. Includes but not limited to establishing timelines, assigning and managing tasks (ensuring comprehensive completion), leading status meetings and monitoring related spending.
3) Brand Consistency and Compliance: Ensure consistency and effectiveness of messaging and branding across channels by assessing materials being produced and bringing all relevant areas into coordination and alignment.
4) Trademarks, Licensing and Legal Logistics: Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to branding and strategic communications.
5) Other duties as assigned, including writing and editing, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
BA in communications and or marketing plus at least 3-5 years post graduate experience.
Position requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively counsel and influence campus partners. Experience with writing and editing to review and ensure quality written copy; the ability to write general news items and generate effective business communications.
The ability to drive cross-functional groups toward a common goal; proven experience with strong project management skills to complete multiple concurrent projects effectively and on time.
Demonstrated proactive, problem-solving orientation and illustrating independence of thought.
Desired Qualifications:
PM certification a plus. Experience in higher education preferred.
