The associate dean for academic affairs will help manage academic initiatives, operations, and strategy in the College of Arts and Sciences. Responsibilities will involve managing the faculty tenure and promotion process, hiring requests and prioritization, improvements to advising, and other duties assigned by the Dean.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Dean drafting notes for memos, letters, and other documents to support operations of the Office of the Dean, including proposals for initiatives, recommendations, remarks for events, and so on.
Manage and solve ad hoc scheduling, classroom, curricular, advising, admissions, and other logistical issues impacting the College.
Advise the dean on academic matters and challenges pertaining to the programs in their area of expertise.
Design and implement strategies to advance the goals of the College and University, including increased graduate enrollments, academic program development, grants, and extracurricular enhancements.
Other tasks as reasonably assigned by the dean.
Required Qualifications:
Academic Appointment in the College of Arts and Sciences at Seton Hall University.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience as department chairperson, director of graduate studies or an interdisciplinary program, or substantial experience on relevant committees (Senate, College, Strategic Planning, Student Success, etc).
Full professor preferred, but not required
