Due to program success and expansion, the School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS) at Seton Hall University invites qualified individuals to apply for two new, open-rank, twelve-month faculty positions in the Department of Physical Therapy beginning July 1, 2019. The Department of Physical Therapy’s contemporary three-year curriculum features academic interprofessional education, simulation-laboratory experiences, the use of standardized patients and clinical experiences designed to graduate practitioners as movement specialists aligning with the APTA vision for Physical Therapy, healthcare trends, and the Seton Hall University mission to form servant leaders.

The School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University has a significant national presence in health science education. In response to a changing healthcare environment, the School is a leader in offering high quality, innovative programs at the master’s and doctoral levels. The School of Health and Medical Sciences offers opportunities for collaborative research, teaching, and grant development across a number of disciplines. A state-of-the-art facility with modern and fully equipped spaces for teaching, learning, studying, researching and applying clinical skills will encourage interprofessional education among Seton Hall’s various health-related disciplines.

The main campus of Seton Hall University is uniquely located within 14 miles to NYC. The new Interprofessional Health Sciences (IHS) Campus in Nutley, NJ is the result of an historic partnership between Seton Hall University and Hackensack Meridian Health. SHMS has affiliations with hospitals and clinics throughout the Northern New Jersey/NYC metropolitan area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses, conducting research in one’s area of expertise, advising graduate students, and participating on committees at the department, school, and university levels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must hold, or be eligible for, NJ State PT licensure.
  • Applicants with an academic doctorate, (PhD, EdD, ScD) are preferred.
  • Individuals with expertise to lead coursework focusing on the development of critical thinking and evidence-based practice, in therapeutic interventions, or clinical diagnosis and management of diverse patients across the spectrum of care are encouraged to apply.

Licenses and Certificates:

  • Qualified candidates must hold, or be eligible for, NJ State PT licensure.
