The Graduate Assistant (GA) is responsible for all the logistics involving the planning and execution of the initiatives and events developed by the Institute. In addition, the GA serves as the primary communications person for the Institute, which includes keeping up with phone, voicemail, mail, email, and other contacts. The GA is responsible for publishing the Institute’s quarterly e-newsletter, maintaining an updated directory, as well as maintaining the Institute’s digital presence (e.g. SHU website, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages). The Graduate Assistant also plays a key role in supporting the ED in all the Institute’s external activities, which include supporting the Institute Advisory Board, cultivating multiple high-profile corporate sponsors, and organizing the Institute’s annual fundraising gala. Finally, the Graduate Assistant assists in overseeing a team of work-study students.

An availability of four (4) days a week, 20 hours in total. Some evenings/weekends required.
-Incoming Fall 2018 graduate students only.
-Applicants must be accepted into a SHU Master’s Degree program.
-Proficient in Microsoft Excel or other statistical software (SPSS, STATA, etc.)
-At least one year of post-baccalaureate professional experience.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
-Familiarity with Google Drive.

- Working knowledge of the Spanish language.
- Previous fundraising and/or nonprofit management experience.
