Graduate Assistant - Athletics Marketing

• Support the Associate Athletics Director for Marketing with the planning and execution of grassroots, on-campus, social/digital, and in-game marketing & promotions
• Will be responsible for script writing, in-game promotions, and game presentation for various on-campus venues as well as the Prudential Center
• Assist with staffing of all home athletic events, with emphasis on men’s basketball and women’s basketball
• Assist with content creation for, and management of, Athletics social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
• Develop and manage the student loyalty rewards program
• Assist with corporate sponsorship activation
• Serve as Game Day Marketing Manager for all events that Associate Athletics Director for Marketing is unable to attend
• Scheduling mascot appearances, National Anthem singers, ROTC/color guard groups, Wounded Warrior honorees, and the like
• Assist with video board production and in-game execution
• Oversight of all on-court promotions & student interns
• Provide administrative support for ticket sales/operations, including facilitating sales leads, processing orders, and developing creative ticket sales initiatives
• Develop and manage the Junior Pirates Club (membership, benefits, website, etc.)
• Develop marketing campaigns, materials, promotions, etc. for all 14 sports programs
• Plan, schedule, and execute video features and fresh content pieces
• Assist with social and digital media needs, including content and management
• Other duties as assigned


• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and an educational background that will satisfy the graduate entrance requirements of Seton Hall University
• Thorough understanding of marketing strategies
• Applicant must possess an understanding of and willingness to support the Seton Hall University Catholic mission
• Ability to communicate effectively with Athletic administrators, coaches, SHU community, alumni, fans, and external constituents
• Must be energetic, responsible, organized, and motivated to assist the Department of Athletics in carrying out the Marketing and External Affairs strategic plans for the 14 Division I teams
• Strong time management, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage several projects simultaneously
• Ability to think creatively, learn, and work both independently and as part of a team
• Computer- & technology-competence
• Applicant must be accepted and enrolled in a full-time SHU graduate program
• Position includes working varying weekly schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holiday breaks


• Experience with marketing & promotions, preferably at the NCAA D-I level
• Leadership experience; management of interns, volunteers, etc.
• Possess moderate (or above) level graphic design skills (Adobe suite)
• Willingness to work beyond the prescribed scope of the position


Must be able to stand for long periods of time; must be physically able to manage on-court/on-field activities; must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.; must be willing & able to work both indoor & outdoor athletic events
